One of the objects has never been in process of studies and has been active used-firstly as necropolis, later on as building with public significance. Only one part of the building, which is dated to 9-12th century is long eleven meters and has quite good shaped face. That that suggests to the thought that it is building, which outward appearance got special importance, aesthetic apperception. At Northen Bulgaria there is such kind of buildings, but they are tenement houses and not public ones, adds Boni Petrunova. Under the basement was found one of the new tombs with three inhumed persons. By the archaeologists, it is obviously family tomb, like the one they have found at archaeological season 2006. This one has been open repeatedly, and got corridor. The tomb is Christian, orientated to west-east direction. Most likely the tomb is from the early Christiandom period - 4-6th century, when the canons has been strictly respected. The inhumed persons there- 2 male and one female are members of one family, but they has been not placed there at the same time. for each obsequies the tomb has been open. There is a find of grave with special formed camera. It turned out that this one is by dwarf. That inhumed human there has been 26-30 years old, but only 110 centimeters tall. Well-built, with bayonet at the skull, which has been fatal also. He is inhumed at camera of special made stone, which is like plaque. Boni Petrunova remind that during the antiquity, it has been given big importance to humans with ailments. They have been treated not like persons from lower quality, but the opposite- like touched by god. They have been treated with special importance, because of the understanding that these physical deficiency is indemnify for supernatural forces. That is quite good explanation for the archaeologists why this person has been burred at well made grave. More than that, this person has found his decease tragically. This tomb has been found under brutally burned down building.
At the Kaliakra area, which has been capital of despot Dobrotica, or the so called Dobrudjan kingdom at the excavations in season 2006 were found coins of Dobrotica. At season 2007, once again, were found coin finds from 12-13 century. The most interesting find, found under the buried down building is sword. Till now, in Bulgaria there are only four finds of sward. That latest find is still not dated emphatically. It is due to the late antiquity or the early Middle Ages. Forthcoming is the dating of this find to be made preciously. The find is unique, because such weapon can be found once in a while, adds Boni Petrunova. It is symbol of authority and it’s well known that it have been suggested that the one who stick the sward at the gateway of the enemy is becoming possessor. The find puts the archaeologists in mind that this place has been into some really dramatic and strange occasion, which is the reason this sward to be left there and found today. At the excavations has been found many coins. one of them is by Philip II, mostly from each period till 13 century.
The excavations at Kaliakra stronghold are going to be ten days more and they are realized with the support from the archaeological museum Kaliakra. Boni Petrunva announce that for now the results from this excavations are very good and remind that Kaliakra has been the last Bulgarian capital, before that downfall under Ottoman yoke. She remind also that at 1386 Vidin is down and the Dobrudjan despot downfall not until 1444, after the combat by Varna.
