Unknown consolidated setllement from the late ancient epoch was found by archaeologists at excavations on the Karaburun hill near the village Banite. The fortress has been built during the 6th century at the foot of older Thrace village. The find of ceramic elements from the late bronze epoch are confirming the thesis that near 1500 years before Christ at Karaburun hill have been placed an sanctuary. As Sanctuary this object is also confirmation about the theory that the sanctuaries are situated at places, where from you can see other one or two other sanctuaries and at the other side the same this places are used with battle and military reasons at later epochs. During the VI century at the top of the hill has been built consolidated settlement with security function around protecting ways and thoroughfares at this area of the Rhodopes, affirms the archaeologists.
Doctor Boyan Domanov from the New Bulgarian University has told that they have been into find of big wall, which is situated at the foot of the hill. She encircle the southern and the southeastern slope, where the hill is most approachable. Second wall, down to the slope and so the frameworks, which the archaeologists are defining as terraces, i.e. the terrain has been terrace-like adjusted for housing construction. The settlement has been existing for about two centuries, with own ceramic manufacture, the find of coins shows clearly that there are rests about trade. At the end of VII century the fortress have been left, without any results for now why.

Thracian tomb at about 3000 years was found at Perperikon by Krasimir Leshtakov. That was announced by Professor Nikolai Ovcharov, who told that it is result of studies at the foot of the historical hill. In consideration of treasure-hunter’s excavation near rock, the find has been explored and there has been found hew out sepulchre. That;s the one and only such sepulcher in the Perperikon area. Compared to the other 45 excavated objects, this is the first also with preserved cultural stratum. The find is engraved into monolythic rock at the end of the bronze and the beginning of the iron epoch. At the niche there is placed round feretory, shaped by dry walling and covered with paving stone.
“Probably it’s about symbolic furniture of chieftain or priest, perished somewhere else, because the sepulchre is empty” explain NIkolai Ovcharov. Near the tomb was found Roman ceramic. That confirms that the place has been honored in later epoch, adds Leshtakov. It has been object of people’s cult for the Thracians, different from the official religion, consider mister Leshtakov.

The find, dated to V century before Christ is aggressive broken down by treasure hunters. It is temple, with indoor premises, build by stone blocks (quadres), 2,80m long. The treasure from Bukovci, Oriahovo municipality is at the National Historical Museum. The treasure consist two silver fials, silver pitcher, silver gilt ornament, saddler in a shape of tercel, silver gilt gobelin, appliques of two united lotus floriferous, alternated with palmets.
The treasure is dated to the end of 5th century,before Christ,339 year. Strongly impressive is the exquisite gobelin. Under the orifice is budged frieze of etched and gilt lotus floriferous. The glass is covered with horizontally flutings and golden sash at the bottom without ornaments.

Near by 15 km southeastern direction to Harmanli , between the villages Cherna mogila, Belasica and Biser is the big elevation ” Gradishte”. During the 1986 with financial support by the town council at this place has been started examines of Thracian stronghold and two early Byzantine and Mиddle Age Christiandom temples. Big treasure hunters excavations are fact for this object also..
Some of the finds from the Middle age are fine red ceramic, fragments of glass bracelets, Middle age ceramic from the ХІ century, 4 count of small iron gads of arrows and ceramic from the early Byzantine epoch (V-VІІ c.)
