The unique golden treasure from Thracian time has been found from archaeologists near Sinemorec at hill near Veleka river. That happens when local citizens has been digging the hill for inert materials for building process. The gold is found later when the archaeologists arrived Golden vessels, many golden and silver ornaments and relic clay tiles with the image of goddess mother Earth, honored by the ancient Thracians. Exceptionally esteemed chaplet and pair of golden earrings are some of the other finds from Sinemorec.

New finds from Perperikon

Ancient warehouse were found from archaeologists after excavations at the antique town of the Thracians Perperikon. Professor Nikolai Ovcharov and his colleagues has found four, completely preserved jars with stony lids and capacity between 160 and 200 liters. The vessels are found at culture stratum from the IV th century a.c.
” Probably at the jars has been preserved wine, because there is red precipitation on the walls and any soil is missing, which is typical for vessels used for food preserving ” adds Professor Ovcharov. The participators at the studies has cleaned the water depot at the top of Perperikon, which is six meters deep. The size of this ancient reservoir is 12 to 6 meters and capacity of 270 000 liters water. By Nikolai Ovcharov’s words this water depot is the biggest at the Balkan peninsula.



The silver ornament found at Kaliakra
Fully preserved ornament of young female aristocrat was found at the excavations of Kaliakra promontory. That was announced by the director of the studies Boni Perunova from the archaeological institute and museum of the Bulgarian Academy of sciences, after the work of specialists. The ornament has been found at the suburb sector’s excavation of the stronghold, when was open a tomb of young woman. She is inhumed at assiduously made stone sepulchre. Up on her forehead the archaeologists have found rich ornament for female. Such ornaments can not be found so often, adds Boni Petrunova. It is known that at the Middle ages such ornaments has been used from female aristocrats.

Find of 18 tombs were found after excavations at the ” Goliam Jordan” area near Smiadovo. The examinations have been started at the middle of 70-ties of the past century with director of studies Popov. The investigated hillock from the late stone copper era (5000B.C.). From the period of the examinations has been received information for necropolis at the settlement. At 2005, under the leadership of Stefan Chohadjiev from the Veliko Turnovo university and doctor Svetlana Venelinova from the regional Historical museum- Shumen are started investigations of the ancient necropolis. Since July 1st 2007 the excavations are continuing at the western direction. Till this moment there are new seven tombs found, which are giving much more information about the funeral rituals.

Tumulus of Thracian nobleman, from 25 centuries ago and 73 unique presents, where 20 of the objects are made by cleanly gold- head of deer, necklace,chaplet and ritual glass for wine..
That unique Thracian tomb, full with objects from clean gold were found near the hill “Goliamata kosmatka” near Shipka from the archaeological team of doctor Georgi Kitov. That’s the same team,who has found the golden mask and that made by bronze head at tumulus of Thracian possessor into this sepulcher. The corridor to the camera is long 13 meters, and the inwardly premises are divided with marble door with beautiful decoration, depicting female head, probably divinity.

Silver Treasure from Borovo

It is dated to IV b.c. and it is found by accident at the end of December 1974 by tractor-driver, who has been in progress of agricultural labour at the Belenski hillock, near Borovo. There are found five vessels at all, made by silver and gilt: three rhytons, sphinx and bull; a coup with two grips and pitcher. Up on two of the rhytons are spell out inscriptions with Greek letters, by which the treasure is connectеd to the Odris king Kotis I (383-359 b.c.). It is supposed that the vessels are made at the Beos town , situated at the Sea of Marmora, at south eastern Thracia.
